Today the RSB announces the launch of its new five-year strategy, from 2025-2030, and the unveiling of our new brand.

Biologists work across hundreds of disciplines, from technicians to naturalists, so the RSB has a key role as the umbrella organisation to bring biologists together, currently representing 23,000 members. Our vision is for the world to value biology’s contribution to understanding and improving life for all, which is supported by our mission, strategic objectives, and our values. The framework champions expertise and innovation, while aligning with the UN Sustainability Goals, and contains information on how we will deliver our plan.

President of the RSB, Professor Sir Ian Boyd FRSB, said: “We’re very excited to be launching our new strategy which will guide the RSB’s plans over the next half decade. The RSB has a vital role in promoting and supporting the biological sciences and we look forward to working to ensure that everybody benefits from an increasing understanding and appreciation of the biological world.”

Accompanying the strategy is the launch of our new brand. With a more contemporary look, it reflects the diversity and breadth of the bioscience disciplines covered in our membership while seeking to make biology and its applications clear and relevant.

As we continue to face the biggest challenges of today, from food security issues to the climate and nature crisis, the RSB is the anchor point uniting the biosciences and we look forward to the next five years implanting our new strategy and rolling out our new brand.
